8th Annual Pecan, Wine & Antique Festival The Town of Camp Verde is gearing up for the ever popular event; the 8th Annual Pecan, Wine & Antique Festival on Feb. 8th – 10th, 2008. Camp Verde is located in the geographic center of Arizona and is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Many of the weekends activities center on Camp Verde’s abundance of pecans grown in the community. The National Historic Registry awarded the Town a historic designation protecting a row of 100 year old pecan trees, known as “Pecan Lane”. The festival will feature pecan judging, antique show, wine tasting, hayrides to a local working pecan farm, The Summer Place”, along with fresh baked pecan pies using only Camp Verde pecans and great food and live jazz music.
Also featured is wine tasting. This is the perfect opportunity to find about all the fine wines that Arizona has to offer. We are extremely excited that the Verde Valley is growing in numbers when it comes to great wineries. Featured Verde Valley wineries at this years festival include Alcantara Vineyards, Javelina Leap, Oak Creek Vineyards, Page Springs Winery, Granite Creek and Echo Canyon. Also present from the southern part of the state are Kokopelli and Coronado Vineyards. The festival also features over 30 booths of antiques and collectables from dealers from all over the state. The Pecan, Wine & Antique Festival is not only fun, but also educational. Experts will be on hand to give seminars and answer all of your questions about growing pecan trees and grapevines. The hours of the festival will be Friday, Feb. 8th from noon to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am – 3pm. The festival takes place at the Camp Verde Community Center located at 395 S.
