Regional Agencies

The Town frequently works with other government agencies and citizen groups in northern Arizona or the state capitol as part of our regional planning, coordination of legal and political issues, and intergovernmental agreements.  Below are some of their websites, as well as links to statutes or other authority for the Town:

Authority

  1. ARS 11-952.  The central statute authorizing execution of intergovernmental agreements, including necessary content, effective date, and any filing requirements.

  2. ARS 9-240.  The basic statute which lists all the general powers of a municipality.  Additional powers, such as to enter into development agreements or impose fees for appointment of counsel for indigent defendants, are usually added by the Legislature following ARS 9-499, or can be found throughout the Arizona Revised Statutes for particular purposes.  An intergovernmental agreement frequently requires that the municipality recite its authority for the contemplated action.
